We provide services from a certified dog trainer using reward-based training techniques strictly using positive reinforcement methods. We are innovative, family friendly, and want you to learn to effectively communicate with your dog! We offer a variety of training classes which, include group classes puppy to alumni and private training sessions in your home or locally out and about.

Our Trainers

Kellie Smith

Founder

Kellie graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in 2005 and continued her career as a veterinary technician for 11 years. She found her focus as a positive reinforcement reward based dog trainer and graduated with honors from Animal Behavior College. She continued her student teaching at All Breed Rescue & Training in Colorado Springs, CO until she returned to Michigan in the spring of 2013. She became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed in October 2014. She has raised 10 puppies for Leader Dogs for the Blind, 4 are currently woking in harness for the blind, 1 is currently completing his training at Leader Dogs, 1 she is currently raising, 1 has been career changed, and 1 is in the breeding program. Kellie is also a dog trainer with a national non-profit organization called Pets for Vets. She is a mother of twins and 4 fur-legged children

Bridgett S. Wilke

Trainer, ABCDT

Bridgett got her start in the dog training profession at a local pet store in 2015. She went through their training program and found her passion as a positive reinforcement dog trainer. In summer of 2018, Bridgett graduated from Animal Behavior College with honors. She is also a member of the Association for Professional Dog Trainers and is an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. When Bridgett is not training, she is either dog walking or spending time with her husband and their two dogs at home.

Olivia Conner

Trainer, ABCDT

Olivia decided to become a dog trainer after volunteering at a local animal shelter and witnessing how a little bit of training could save a dog’s life. Olivia graduated with honors from Animal Behavior College in 2020; and has been working with Positive Pawz since 2019. Her favorite part about dog training is seeing the overall improvement in the owners and puppies lives after adding training! When she isn’t working with dogs, she enjoys coaching a local high school dance team, snuggling with her cats, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and puppy.
